Darjeeling :- Beautiful Tourist Place 



     Darjeeling ,  is a city located  in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is noted for its tea industry, its views of Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also a popular tourist destination in India.

                              According to an India Today survey published on 23 December 2015, Darjeeling is the third most Googled travel destination among all the tourist destinations in India.

                             Darjeeling can be reached by the 88 km  long Darjeeling Himalayan Railway from New Jalpaiguri, or by National Highway 55, from Siliguri, 77 km  away.

                             The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is a 600 mm (2 ft) narrow-gauge railway that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 for being "an outstanding example of the influence of an innovative transportation system on the social and economic development of a multi-cultural region, which was to serve as a model for similar developments in many parts of the world", becoming only the second railway in the world to have this honour.

                              Different type of cultures exists in Darjeeling, the local and ethnic food of Darjeeling is also quite varied. Rice, noodles, momo , soupand potatoes seem to make up the important  part of the cuisine partly due to the cold climate. The most popular local snack food are Momos.




                 People who want to visit Darjeeling have three option as Transport. 
               As i told earlier , darjeeling is well connected by Road, Train and Air.
               Private taxis available at NJP and bus available at Siliguri bus stand which is 8kms from NJP are the main public transports to get to Darjeeling from NJP station. I will recommend Private Taxi.

               But i will given you an idea/roadmap   to visit Darjeeling by road and rail.
               
              This article is based on my own experience.
               I had reserved a Berth in Train from Dhanbad to New jalpaiguri. I reached NJP early in the morning. There i have been reserved a Traveller  and reached Darjeeling in the evening on same day. 
                It 's totally depend on you how you will settle the amount with Taxi/Traveller Agency.

                Traveller agency will be responsible for Hotel at Darjeeling. Driver will drop you at Hotel and next day you will pick up and You will visit all Tourist places.

     When you will start travelling from New Jalpaiguri you find cloud is moving below you.

    I travelled more than 10 tourist places but i found Darjeeling is most cheapest and beautiful place to visit.

    We welcome all the tourists to visit Darjeeling a city situated in the state of West Bengal. The nearest railway station is New Jalapiguri. You can take car rental services from New Jalpaiguri to visit this place.
